The new Microsoft 365 App is starting to roll-out

In October this year, Microsoft announced that the Office application available for Windows PC, mobile devices, and web browsers would soon be renamed Microsoft 365. In turn, a new message in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center says that the browser application will start rolling out later this week, and apps for Windows and phones in January.

The new Microsoft 365 app is a central place to access Microsoft services and applications for both business customers and consumers. It allows users to create a new Office document, access files, and shared content, and view personalized insights and recommendations. The application is integrated with third-party applications and cloud drives and eliminates the need to switch between different applications.

Under this new banner, the application also gained new features for Office.com users, including new types of content and templates created, a New Apps module, a welcome page, a My Content section, feed, tagging, backgrounds, and styles. According to Microsoft:

This experience replaces the Office.com experience and connects to the Office apps for browsers, Windows, and mobile devices. The change includes a rebranding of Office.com as well as various improvements. Customers can expect to see a new URL, a new visual style, and a new icon.

The new app will automatically replace the existing Office experience in your browser. Users can go to https://www.microsoft365.com/ to use it. All traffic from the Office.com domain will be automatically redirected to this page, although no specific time has been given to implement this change.
